British flag carrier, British Airways, has launched a shopping basket facility on its website, www.britishairways.com, that will allow customers to book a range of tailored British Airways Holidays products alongside flights while doing the flight booking.
Travelers can use the website to build their entire holiday itinerary by purchasing hotels, car-hire, resort transfers and sightseeing tours together with their flight tickets in a single payment transaction. Customers will see a running total of the cost of all items in the shopping basket as they create their travel package. They can add extra products or remove them at any point before they make their final payment.
Previously customers had to book their flights separately and then move to the British Airways Holidays homepage to purchase the additional products.
"The new functionality is a further expansion of ba.com's one-stop-shop development strategy," said Simon Parks-Smith, head of product management. "We have developed this new travel packaging facility as our customers have told us that they value ease, simplicity and choice when purchasing holidays online," he added.
