Irish airline Aer Arann has announced that it will begin operating a new service from London Luton Airport to Lorient in South Brittany, France beginning March 26, 2006. The service will operate six days per week and will be operated by an ATR72 aircraft. The flight will depart London Luton at 9.00 am and Lorient at 3.15 pm.
Aer Arann says this is their fourth service from Luton Airport. The airline currently operates over 56 flights per week to and from London Luton to Waterford and Galway and recently announced that it will begin operating an Isle of Man service on the 24th November 2005.
Commenting on the announcement Micheal O’Callarain, Marketing Manager of Aer Arann, said “Brittany is an extremely popular French destination for UK passengers and Lorient is very well located as a touring base for this area. Rennes, St Malo, Nantes, Mont St Michel and Brest are just some of the major centers within a comfortable two-hour drive of the airport. We believe there is considerable untapped demand from North London to the regions of Brittany and look forward to working with London Luton to develop the service.”
