Online media publication TravelMole, in association with World Travel Market (WTM), has announced the list of winners of the first TravelMole Technology Awards at the WTM conference 2005 in London, England.
The Travel Technology Personal Achievement Award was given to Brent Hoberman, a co-founder of lastminute.com. Hoberman was cited for his role in deploying many technology innovations at lastminute.com since 1998. Brent is now helping new lastminute.com owners, Sabre/Travelocity, with further incorporation of new content and technology. Expedia won the category for “Most Effective Use of Dynamic Packaging Tools Online”. The site was acknowledged for marketing tools and ideas that enable travelers to create and book their perfect trip: millions of airfares, 80,000 accommodation properties worldwide, car hire, build-your-own packaging technology and pre-package holidays. Digital Alternatives Ltd won the category for “On-Line Brochure Technology”. The company has been supplying the tourism industry with digital brochures for over 5 years. Most recent enhancements include, search entire brochure for key words, track use and click through to bookings, and the ability save to PC/Mac and CD for offline viewing.
The “Agency Desk Top Tools” award was given to Amadeus, a technology partner for providers, sellers, and buyers of travel - providing distribution, IT and point-of-sale solutions. Mobimate won the “Innovation in Mobile Technology” category. As a leading product franchise for mobile travel applications and services, the WorldMate product line offers essential travel information to business professionals directly from their mobile device. The category “Dynamic Packaging Tools for Agents” was awarded to Online Travel Corporation. OTC is one of the UK's leading online travel suppliers, owning and powering over 150 websites. The company provides its service online and offline (call centre) to the leisure, corporate and trade markets.
