Feb 7, 2006

British Airways is extending its “London for Free” sale, the promo that offers two free nights’ hotel accommodations in central London when purchasing round-trip airfares between London to any British Airways destination worldwide.

To add a new dimension to this program, British Airways announced that it is now offering a special Club World roundtrip fare of $2,996 to London from New York, plus comparable fares from other USA gateways. The Club World fare has no advance purchase requirement and is comparable to full fare business class. The Club World airfare is combined with two free hotel nights at the five-star London Marriott County Hall located on the Thames adjacent to Westminster Bridge.

Economy class airfares begin at $298 roundtrip between New York's JFK or Newark airports and London's Heathrow. Sample round trip economy airfares to other destinations from New York include:

  • New York to London - $298

  • New York to Paris - $378

  • New York to Amsterdam - $368

  • New York to Rome - $427

  • New York to Barcelona - $433

  • New York to Dubrovnik - $427

  • New York to Cairo - $636

The two free hotel nights, using economy travel, are available at a selection of three- and four-star hotels for travel through August 31, 2006, when higher fares may apply. Participating hotels include Royal National,

Paddington Court
, Hyde Park, Comfort Inn Kensington, Mostyn, Jurys Inn Chelsea, Corus Hyde Park, Rembrandt, Thistle Barbican, Shaftesbury Kensington, Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt. The two free hotel nights are based on double occupancy; single occupants are offered one free hotel night.

“London for Free” travelers also have the option to upgrade their round trip air travel to World Traveller Plus, British Airways' premiere economy class, and still take advantage of the two free nights at a three or four-star hotel. The World Traveller Plus round-trip add-on ranges from $200 to $254 for travel between any USA gateway and London.

Economy and World Traveller Plus airfares are based on round-trip, advance purchase, non-refundable, select economy class midweek (Mon.-Wed) fares for travel until April 2, 2006, except to India, which is available through June 30, 2006. Fares may be higher for other travel dates from other US departure gateways and to other worldwide destinations. There is no advance purchase requirement when purchasing the Club World roundtrip fares.

The $20 discount is available only at ba.com when logging in and booking “London For Free”. Weekend (Thurs.-Sun.) surcharge is $30 each way.
