VLM Airlines has won the 'Regional Airline of the Year' Award given by Air Transport World.
Belgium-based VLM Airlines says its success has been fueled by its ongoing drive to offer reliable and time-saving services to its passengers. The airline cited its overall on-time performance rate of 91.7% in 2005, an improvement from 89% in 2004, when it was ranked first out of all airlines operating to and from the UK by the UK Civil Aviation Authority.
VLM Airlines now offers over 220 flights every weekday from London City Airport to nine destinations, and with the opening of the new Docklands Light Railway link to the airport, passengers can now travel from London's financial district to the airport in just 22 minutes. This, coupled with a check-in time of just 15 minutes at London City Airport, passengers can travel from office door to aircraft in less than 45 minutes.
“We are extremely honored to be receiving this prestigious award,” says Johan Vanneste, Managing Director for VLM Airlines. “It is a powerful endorsement of our continual drive to offer our passengers fast and convenient travel solutions to key business destinations in the UK and Western Europe.”
