Hotel booking and technology group Hotelzon is strengthening its UK position with the acquisition of Hoteline Limited, the Winchester-based hotel reservations and conferencing agency.
Hotelzon officials say this second acquisition within six months is in line with the group's plans to rapidly become a major player in the UK, considered as the largest business travel market in Europe. "Hoteline is a well-established, mid-sized agency with a mature client portfolio. This acquisition fits extremely well into our strategy of creating a global network of operations capable of delivering world-class specialist hotel reservation and account management services both on and off-line," says Erik Floman, Hotelzon International CEO.
"This global network now extends to Belgium, Denmark, Norway, China, Finland, Germany, India, Italy, Russia, Sweden, UK and USA. Our technology, with its direct connectivity to virtually any hotel, offers a reservations management solution that significantly reduces transaction costs for both corporate organisations and hotels. We have successfully begun its introduction into the UK through our first acquisition last September and the Hoteline addition will now help to rapidly increase our initial foothold," Floman further added.
