Virgin Atlantic
Airways celebrated its first Middle Eastern route with its arrival in Dubai, the airline’s 26th
destination worldwide. Airline officials say Dubai
is a key business and leisure destination for Virgin Atlantic as it is the
second biggest long haul route out of London,
while London is the most popular long haul route
out of the United Arab
Emirates.
Virgin Atlantic
will operate direct flights between Heathrow and Dubai four times a week on an Airbus A340-600
or A340-300, which will increase to five a week from May 1 and daily from June 1.
From March 27, services to Dubai (flight VS400)
depart from Heathrow on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 21:00 and
arriving in Dubai
International Airport
at 07:10 the following morning. Return flights to Heathrow (flight VS401) will
depart Dubai on
Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 14:35 and arrive into Heathrow at 19:10. From May 1, an additional weekly service
