Flybe has started
a new hub at the Newquay International Airport
with the introduction of low fare flights to Edinburgh.
The budget airline
says this move marks the expansion of its Southwest operations. Moreover, the
new base facilitates a key low cost route between Newquay and Scotland for the first time in the
airport’s history. The new route to Edinburgh is
a key new link to Scotland’s
capital city and business center, Flybe explains.
“We have big plans
in the southwest. Whilst many of our competitors are route cutting and
retrenching back to London, Flybe is expanding in the regions and is committed
to bringing flights to your door,” says Mike Rutter, Chief Commercial Officer. “The
new route to Edinburgh shows us responding to
consumer demand for a link from the Cornwall to Scotland.
The new route will provide a convenient, low cost travel option to the popular UK
destination which was previously only accessible by a long and inconvenient
train ride,” he added.
