travelers to commemorate St George’s
Day, which falls on April 23.
Medieval St George’s Day, Yorkshire, 22-23
April - Visit
Scarborough Castle
and join the medieval townsfolk as they celebrate with archery, games and
comedy mummers plays. Then greet St George mounted in shining armor as he faces
the Saracen Knight, and his famous foe, the green dragon.

George’s Day in Salisbury, South West England, 23 April - St George's Day 2006 will be celebrated in true Salisbury style in
the historic city of Salisbury with entertainment, such as street theatre,
pageantry, dancing, wandering minstrels and a few dragons to be slain! The
festivities take place in and around the city centre. Besides all the music and
dancing, there will be a farmers’ market, and plenty of competitions and
quizzes with lots of prizes to be won.

23 April - Discover OxburghHall Garden
and Estate in Norfolk
for St Georges Day. This 15th century-moated manor house is to host a fun
family event where children can celebrate with an armor trail and take part in
a mask-making workshop. You will also have a chance to meet St George on his
horse.

George’s Day Performance, South East England, 23 April - Visit Groombridge PlaceGardens and Enchanted Forest
in Royal Tunbridge Wells and witness a mini-adventure story based around George
and the fearsome Dragon. Additionally, the Mossy Bottom Theatre will present
tales of valor and mystery in the Enchanted
Forest.

George’s Day, London, 23 April - Celebrations in
Covent Garden this year are yet to be confirmed, but you should still expect a
grand parade with entertainment, dancing and floats. There is also likely to be
Morris Dancing and Punch & Judy shows for the kids, as well as a feast of
food and drink to sustain everywhere throughout the day’s events.

discovering the exciting myths and legends around St Georges Day through a
number of activities. Face painting is also available for children.
