Enjoy England has launched a new campaign to encourage
holidaymakers sample the various cuisine and gastronomic delights available in
the UK.
Called “Taste England,” the campaign was developed following a
VisitBritain research which showed that food and drink continues to be a key
driver for short breaks and day trips in England. The campaign, launched in
association with England’s
Northwest, showcases the best of English produce across the nine regions of England.
A glossy and
informative 64-page guide accompanies the campaign alongside a fresh new
website, www.enjoyengland.com/taste.
Organizers say both are stuffed full of tidbits designed to tempt taste buds
and inspire food lovers. Regional recipes such as Craster kippers with
Newcastle Brown ale bread, Yorkshire curd tart
and the English cocktail, the “Fuzzy George,” are included alongside tips from local
legends such as Clarissa Dickson-Wright, James Martin, Rachel Green and Gary
Rhodes.
The website also
includes interviews with local food and drink producers, chefs, farmers and
restaurateurs; tasty special offers; delicious recipes; and listings of food
festivals.
